My Seattle: Braids with Cady Coffee

I recently got the opportunity to spend a morning With Cady Z, aka Cady Coffee, founder of the Braided Babes Club!

Photography: Cady Coffee

The morning started with meeting Cady at General Porpoise, a local donut shop and cafe here in Seattle. We found a nice corner table, and she asked what I wanted my hair to look like. I immediately defaulted to “Princess Braid!” In a few short minutes, she had braided my hair into the most beautiful braid and topped it off with a gorgeous accessory! Isn’t she amazing?!

Inspired by the ornate hairstyles of some of her favorite childhood classical series, Cady started to recreate the braids from the historical shows on herself. More recently, the amazing and ever-changing braids from Daenerys Targaryen are continuing to inspire her braiding today. Cady views braiding as an art form where hair is the canvas through which she can express her creativity. Cady says, “Braids empower women of all different types of hair textures.”  She hopes through her braiding and through her business, Braided Babes Club, she can inspire women and help them feel beautiful no matter the day. She aims to help women tap into their “…playful, free-spirited side with bohemian style braids”.

In 2018, Cady is planning to host Braid Bars where women can visit with her and get beautified! If you are in the Seattle area, make sure you follow her at Cady Coffee to stay updated!
